Actress Nyaboke Moraa is mourning the death of her daughter Marie Ochieng who was only 19 years old.The news of Marie's death surfaced on sunday 28th july by her friend Sandra Dacha.Her mother would later confirm Marie's death on her instagram ad X acounts.Close friends to Marie of Marie Achieng allege that she took away her own life as a result of an unhealthy relationship and traumatic relationship with her mum.A screenshot doing rounds on social media shades light on the allegation which ended with her saying that no one should take responsibility for her action because it was a decision she made alone.
The news aroused a lot of emotions on social media.One of her friends who went by the name @badussluvr on x tweeted,'' its heartbreaking how a parent can raise a child only to show resentment and blame them for all their problems once they are grown.My friend Marie was loved by so many but she took her life because of one person's cruelty''.The post had so many responses.One friend who sconspicuosly knew Marie well commented,''Any close friend to Marie woud tell you the truth!Her mother pushed her to depression.I dont know why people are symphathizing with this woman.Nyaboke Moraa you pushed your daughter to the edge.She is now acting like we dont know what she to her through.we her friends talked to Marie the most.Sipendi wazazi wako hivi by the way.Toxic parents!''.From the allegations its clear that not only did her mother abuse her verbally but also physically.In one voice note Marie expains how her mom cut her dread locks while beating her up because she believed they were demonic.She later tried to put them back but her dad disagreed saying that it would remind people of how she was reckless.
In another screenshot of Marie conversing with her friend Marie tells her friend that she had to move from home and live with her grandmother because her mother had gotten abusive both verbally and physically.She went her ahead to tell her friend that she had to escape home from time to time because of the treatment she was accorded at home.
The news baffled many because of how they appeared to be close online.When Marie turned nineteen,her mother went on her instagram handle and posted a picture of them then captioned,'' My little girl turns 19 today,the child of my youth.God expand your territories ,cover your steps and give you your heart desires.Mama loves you so muchThis year your birthday comes at a very trying time but mungu yuko.Happy birthday my Achieng''.
A lot of netizens respond this with one saying,''Parents love your children,go to therapy and heal.Toxic parents are just the worst then they start crying when something like this happens''.Another netizen reactions was,''I tell people toxic moms are real ,kwanza hapo kwa kuvaa jeans am triggered.This should not be okay making your kids your punching bags emotionally,mentally,and psychologically..she's not alone being driven to suicide.One netizen took the mother's side and said,'I believe Nyaboke truly loved her daughter so much that she wanted a perfect little girl who would not repet the same mistakes that she made.When you read the chats the child acknowledges that she was problematic to the point where her dad and his new wife did not want to live with her .A a millenial parent the only language we understand while correcting our kids is violence because it is the only thing we were shown/taught.It takes alot of self awareness,restraint,extra care and a proper support system to raise gen zs and gen alpha away from trauma of our childhood.So sorry for both the parents and the now deceased child.Feel free to comment your views on this story.
